Sell Your Posessions

Receive the Father’s kingdom with trust, loosen your grip on possessions, and give generously to people in need.

Luke 12:32–34

32 “Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. 33 Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Jesus speaks tenderly to His little flock, grounding radical generosity in the Father’s pleasure to give the kingdom before calling them to sell, give, and store treasure in heaven.

Listen carefully to what Jesus says.

  1. What does Jesus command?
  2. What does this passage reveal about Him?
  3. Where do we resist this command?
  4. What is difficult or unclear?
  5. How does the Father’s gift of the kingdom make generosity possible, and what possessions most strongly compete for your heart?

Choose one specific act of obedience.

Choose one possession or financial reserve you can responsibly release. Sell or give it, direct the benefit to a genuine need, and involve wise counsel if the decision affects dependents or shared resources.

Father, free us from fear and possessiveness. Root us in your generous kingdom and show us how to give wisely, courageously, and with love for those in need.

Keep Jesus’ command joined to His assurance, “Fear not, little flock.” Teach generous relinquishment without pressuring people into reckless decisions or ignoring family responsibilities.
